Curator's Notes

‘The two shall become one’ - The Bible & The Spice Girls

Connected through one line, beginning and ending at the eye and gaze of each figure they fit together like puzzle pieces, two unique individuals coming together as one.

The sun shape is light, truth and guidance.

Twin wave shapes moving alongside one another, through the ups and downs of life, their journey in sync.

The vessel represents fulfilment and meeting each other’s spiritual, emotional and physical needs. Filling each other’s cup to be the best they can be.

The connecting circle symbolizes two halves making a whole, fitting together to make one.

The bowl is a symbol of giving and receiving, a foundational interaction of belonging.

The archway represents ‘home’ and your safe space wherever you are together.

The eye symbolizes being seen as your true self. To belong is to be loved and known. Known and seen for all our imperfections but loved all the same.

Tip for Collectors

One of the reasons we love Octavia's prints is that each is unique. Most are small edition, hand signed, numbered, and stamped pieces. Given that most are also printed on French cotton paper, the ink adheres such that it's hard to decipher prints from originals. Octavia Tomyn

Prior to pursuing art full-time in 2018, Octavia was a fashion designer for brands like Marc Jacobs and Christopher Kane in New York and London. Today Octavia’s pieces are highly sought after, with collectors in over 29 countries, in addition to being shown in magazines like Dwell and hotels like the Sofitel.

The artist maintains an extensive commission waitlist but has allotted a handful of monthly slots to Wallace collectors. All custom pieces include a key explaining the metaphors and symbols behind the piece.
