The War of Art: Make Fun Not War series features soldiers of mass creation. The artist combines classic nostalgic tropes, harkening back to the simplicity of childhood. As a school teacher, Hauben is regularly exposed to the unfettered creativity of youth, a time when soldiers are toys, an outlet to express creativity, have fun, and unleash the imagination, not a vehicle for destruction.

Each Piece is Unique
Ari Hauben applies dripped crayon wax and/or spray paint by hand to each piece in the War of Art Series--making each entirely unique. The artist first places a cutout over each figure, so it remains untouched. Crayons are warmed with a heat gun, and multiple colors of spray paint are applied.
