Vibrance: Original Oil Painting

KT is an artist based in Rivne, Ukraine. “Vibrance,” part of her Moroccan wall series of still lifes and landscapes, immerses the viewer in the sun, warmth, joy, ancient walls, and bright decor of the North African nation.

The impressionist piece feels reminiscent of Henri Matisse and Vincent van Gogh. The lemon branch is playful and full of the warmth of the sun–it came unexpectedly to KT as she sketched out this piece. As she puts it “she [the branch] is like a little treasure that brings the feeling of summer into the house. Even in the darkness, one can feel the sun. Eyes or images are not needed for it, for it resides in our heart. And these lemon still lifes, infused with the vibrant spirit of colorful eastern Morocco, bring joy to both the artist and the viewer.”

The bright, colorful and playfulness of this piece is in sharp contrast to KT's daily reality living in a war-torn nation and transports her to a very different place. She hopes that her Moroccan series brings viewers as much joy as they bring her making them.
