The last couple of years have been devastating for Ukrainians, and artists are no exception. Curator's Notes

KT is an artist based in Rivne, Ukraine. This piece, part of her Moroccan wall series of still lifes and landscapes, immerses the viewer in the sun, warmth, joy, ancient walls, and bright decor of the North African nation.

Morocco is hot, and the air is thick. A lemon sprig brightens up a room with its tropical scent, which cuts through the desert heat.

The piece feels reminiscent of Henri Matisse and Vincent van Gogh, and we love that the artist chose not to fill in the vase. The transparent vase brings a certain simplicity to an otherwise bright painting and also invites the viewer to complete the piece in their mind and bring their own interpretation.

The bright, colorful and playfulness of this piece is in sharp contrast to KT's daily reality living in a war-torn nation, and this piece transports her to a very different place. She hopes that her Moroccans series brings viewers as much joy as they bring her making them.

Oak frames are included with your order. Each piece is framed by hand by the artist. The piece is ~10.6"x8.2" framed.

Each piece is meticulously hand-painted to order by KT. Your piece will look nearly identical to photos, but the individuality of every brushstroke and hue ensures that no two artworks are alike, making each piece distinct.

Signature is on the back of the piece. The layers of oil paint are difficult to sign on top of.

About the Artist

KT

Based in Rivne, Ukraine, KT has had numerous solo shows and is collected throughout the world from the UK to Miami. Her latest series immerses the viewer in the sun, warmth, ancient walls, and bright colors of Morocco. Conde Nast Traveler said of the series, "...all priced accessibly...her pieces are sure to liven up and add charm to a space."

“When the war in Ukraine began I realized there are many things you worry about needlessly,” she recalls, “The war highlighted what truly matters: ensuring loved ones are well. Art can be a light that fills a person’s heart with joy! This series of lemons and landscapes emerged in response to my inner search for this joy. These are light, radiant, slightly naive paintings. Morocco has become a true oasis for me.”
